Designed by Philippe Starck for XO, the Bonze transforms a human head into a compact piece of functional furniture. The cylindrical ceramic body carries a frontal, highly simplified face, while its level crown permits use as an occasional table or stool. The reflective gold finish gives the object a changing visual character, absorbing fragments of its surroundings. This example retains its printed underside label reading 'BONZE BY S+ARCK FOR XO.'
