Rose Chair (Masanori Umeda for Edra)
Designed by Masanori Umeda for Edra at the end of the 1980s, the Rose Chair translates the layered structure of a flower into an upholstered lounge chair. Large outer petals establish the chair's sculptural outline, while individually padded inner elements form an informal, enveloping seat. Deep red velvet gives the surface a dense, light-responsive character, contrasted by three tapered aluminium legs. The chair retains its sewn Edra manufacturer's label.
